Master Gu’s Taoist Wellness Free Course: Week 1
What is the Taoist approach to health and wellness?
Do the Dao Now
It’s easy to feel out of balance in our increasingly fast-paced world.
Students often arrive at my school in the Wudang mountains feeling stressed, anxious, stiff, and confused. Their habits and ways of living had weakened their natural resilience and joy.
The aim of Daoist practice is harmony: understanding and nourishing all the different parts of us.

The three fundamental aspects of the Taoist approach to wellness are:
- Shen - body,
- Qi - breath/energy
- Xin - heart-mind
Actions
Can you begin to look at your wellness holistically?
What is one action you can commit to in each of these areas:
- Body: are you exercising enough? Are you eating well?
- Qi: do you have enough tranquillity in your day? How is your breathing?
- Heart-mind: are your thoughts and feelings causing you joy or pain? What reflection or reading can you do?
Happy explorations,
Master Gu
