George Thompson
George Thompson is a Tai Chi and Qi Gong teacher, filmmaker, and educator dedicated to making authentic Taoist wisdom practical for modern life.
After experiencing anxiety and disconnection earlier in life, George travelled to the Wudang Mountains of China, where he spent over eight years studying Taoist practices under the guidance of Master Gu, a 15th-generation Wudang lineage holder. This training reshaped his understanding of balance, energy, and how real, lasting change happens.
Together, George and Master Gu founded the Wudang Taoist Wellness Academy to share these teachings with students worldwide - translating ancient wisdom into clear, grounded practices that fit modern lives.
George’s teaching style is patient, clear, and welcoming. Whether you’re completely new to the practices or have decades of experience, his approach meets you where you are - without force, pressure, or spiritual overwhelm.

WHAT IS A LIVE INQUIRY?
This is not performance and not advice-giving.
It’s a slow, careful exploration of:
- what’s actually happening in your experience right now
- where thought, emotion, and sensation are interacting
- how awareness itself can hold and clarify what feels difficult
The work is inspired by the way teachers like Tara Brach, Adyashanti, and Rupert Spira work live with students - grounded, present, and respectful of each person’s pace and capacity.
Sometimes the shift is subtle.

HOW TO TAKE PART
Each week, one or two participants volunteer for extended live inquiry (approx. 30 minutes).
You can put yourself forward during the start of the live session.
Participation is always optional.
Please be aware that all sessions are recorded and made available to the group.
